"Banks" came to us on December 7, 2018 from Riverbank where he had been seen on the banks of the Saint John River for several days.  He was cold, scared, thin and had cuts and lacerations on his feet.

Banks was untrusting and therefore hard to catch, but he finally allowed himself to be lured into a warm vehicle and his life was changed forever.  He is a Shepherd mixed-breed who was born about December 7, 2017.

"Commander," a Doberman, originally came to us from the Perth-Andover area where he had been attacked by another dog which resulted in the loss of his left front leg.  You'd never know he only has three by the way he moves, though!  He loves to run and play and he LOVES people.  Commander had been adopted to a home in Sussex which, sadly for both humans and canines, didn't work out for him.

Commander came back with us on August 4, 2018 and was waiting to meet that perfect family to join.  He is a beautiful, happy boy who may be a little too interested in cats, so he'd prefer a home alone or with other large dogs.  He is very smart, learns quickly and has no problem at all sleeping in his crate at night.  He would like some practice walking on his leash as he sometimes tends to pull a bit, but is doing much better each day.  Commander was born about June 6, 2011.

"Sherlock" came to us on October 5, 2018 when he was abandoned at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic along with his sister, Mary.  They appeared to be St Bernard mixes who were born about August 5, 2018. 

On October 18, 2018, Sherlock was adopted to a family in Fredericton where he'll have the life he deserves!  Congratulations, Sherlock!  Please send us photos!

"Ducky" came to us on September 22, 2018 from the Tobique area where she had been struck by a vehicle, sustaining great injury.  Her family was unable to undergo the requirements of her care.  Ducky was born about November 22, 2017.

X-rays revealed that Ducky had numerous fractures in her pelvis anda fracture in her left front leg as well.  She was given pain medication and will require several weeks of kennel rest, but her vet is expecting a good recovery.  She appears to be a Pomeranian mix.  Ducky was happy to receive the medical care that she requires and we wish her the very best in her recovery.  She is an affectionate little girl with a kind, loving and attentive personality.  We'll keep you up to date on her medical status.  Her favourite new vet thinks that she'll be just fine after her bones heal with lots of kennel rest, love and good food.  She's a very lucky little girl.

On October 5, 2018, Ducky, now known as Honey, was adopted by a couple from Plaster Rock.  She is recovering very well and is already the queen of her new home!  Thanks to her new family for giving her this wonderful new life!  Congratulations, Honey!  Write often!!

"Mary" came to us on October 5, 2018 when she was abandoned at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic along with her brother, Sherlock.  They appeared to be St Bernard mixes who were born about August 5, 2018. 

Mary was fortunate to be adopted on October 10, 2018 to a home in Upper Kingsclear.  Congratulations, Mary!  You'll have a great life now.

"Watson" came to us on September 18, 2018 from the Perth-Andover area where his family had gotten him the previous day.  It was a very short time before they realized he needed medical help that they were unable to provide.  We were his only resort.

Watson was neurologic, very thin, had very little muscle mass, was seizuring and non-responsive.  He was immediately provided with medical attention.  Tests ruled out parvovirus and distemper and it became possible that he may have ingested a noxious substance. 

As of September 21, 2018, due to medical assistance, he was doing much better.  He was born about August 5, 2018 so he was only about six weeks old, still too young to be away from his mother.  He received the best of medical care and was soon doing well.  Watson appears perhaps to be a Saint Bernard/Border Collie mix. 

On September 30, 2018, Watson was adopted by a family in Greenfield where he'll be a friend for other dogs and cats.  Congratulations, Watson!

"Burt" came to us on September 5, 2018 from the Woodstock area where he was found on the side of the road.  He was named in honour of Burt Reynolds who had passed away recently.  He was very ill and needed medical help badly.  Burt was born about September 8, 2016, so was only about two years old.  He most probably belonged to someone previously, but no family was located.  He is a Lab mixed breed who had not been vaccinated to protect him from any terrible diseases.  He was also not neutered.

Burt was diagnosed with parvovirus, a potentially deadly disease which is very contagious to other dogs.  Burt had a fever, was vomiting blood, was dehydrated and had bloody diarrhea.  Had he been vaccinated, he would not have had to undergo such a terrible and painful ordeal.

Burt was placed in isolation to prevent further spread of this disease and fell in love with several vet techs who fed, bathed and cared for him daily.  He slowly improved and we're glad that he has this chance.

As of September 18, 2018, Burt was completely cleared of his parvovirus and very happy to be feeling healthy, loving and playful once again.  He is now fully vaccinated and neutered and he wants to remind everyone of the importance of vaccinating your pets to protect them from preventable diseases.  He's very happy to be healthy once again.

On September 21, 2018, Burt was pleased beyond words to be adopted by a family in Peel where he'll have the love, attention, care and vaccines he requires to keep him safe and happy for the rest of his life.  Congratulations, Burt.  We are SO happy for you!

"Charles" came to us on October 20, 2017 from Jacksonville.  He is a Maltese who was born about January 4, 2009.  Charles likes to sleep on the bed with his human and is great with other dogs and cats. 

Charles has a history of aggression and is on medication for anxiety.  When he is nervous or feels threatened he will bite (hard and without warning), but once he is comfortable in his surroundings he is loving and playful.  He has made a lot of progress with both his aggression and anxiety since moving in with his current foster family; at this time he only reacts to being picked up and at the groomer (he usually needs to be sedated for his hair cuts).  Because of his history we need to find him a family with no young children and an owner who will be patient and gentle with him until he learns that he is safe and loved.

Charles takes medication daily to help control skin allergies.  He needs to eat Royal Canin Urinary S/O food to prevent crystal formation in his urine and he has a heart murmur.  He is not currently on medication for his heart, but this may become necessary in the future.  He uses the bathroom outdoors, but if he is indoors for an extended period of time, he will happily use pee pads.

Charles loves to go in the car (especially to Tim Horton's for a treat!) and knows such basic commands as "Sit," "Down," "Shake a paw," etc.  He's a dog packed with potential and we are confident that in the right home he will be a loving, energetic and happy little guy.

On September 5, 2018, Charles was officially adopted by his friends in Riverbank where they'll give him the love and care he requires and deserves.  Congratulations, Charles!

"Marcus" came to us on September 8, 2018 from Centreville where he was living pretty much on his own and had no one who could care for him.  He is a Sharpei/Lab mix who was born about August 23, 2015.  He was slightly overweight, but healthy and already neutered.  He is a really sweet little boy who is very friendly, appears to like other dogs and has no problem with cats at all - he kinda likes them!

As DunRoamin' has recently taken in 93 cats and dogs in a 100-day period and is currently overwhelmed, the Oromocto SPCA kindly offered to accept this beautiful boy on September 14, 2018, and find him a home.  We'd like to thank Tracey and her staff once again for their assistance and teamwork.  We, and Marcus, are very grateful.

"Geraldine" came to us on July 26, 2018 from Centreville where she had become ill and needed urgent medical care which could not be provided in her current home.  Geraldine was born about November 27, 2016 and had recently had puppies.  She displayed nausea, was dehydrated and very skinny.  She was in much pain and her new vet immediately went to work to determine her illness, which was serious.

Geraldine was diagnosed with severe pancreatitis.  Her bloodwork was very poor and she required intravenous fluids, antibiotics and pain medications to help relieve her distress.  After much medical intervention and attention, she was soon doing much better and anxious for a loving home.

Geraldine is initially timid of men, but when introduced properly does well.  She bonds quickly and totally to female friends and displays the intense loyalty for which dogs are so well known.  She was grateful to be fostered by a kind young lady who has reinforced her strengths and taught her that she has many people she can trust and love.  Geraldine loves to "counter surf," so her new family may have to be careful where they keep the treats!!  She's a quick learner, though, so this might not be a problem for long!  She's a very loving companion, so if you're looking for a loyal friend, she's your girl!

On September 13, 2018, Geraldine was adopted by a young lady from Speerville.  You've got it made now, Geraldine!  Your smiling photo says everything!  Thanks to the wonderful lady who donated your new bandana to wear on the first day of your new life - we're grateful for the support!  Congratulations!!

"Homer" came to us on June 8, 2018 from the Bath area where he was not able to receive the time or attention he required.  He was healthy but not neutered or vaccinated.  Upon examination it was learned that he had two webbed central toes on his right hind foot, but x-rays revealed absolutely no problem and he has no problem walking or running - he loves to go full tilt!  Homer was born about January 8, 2017 and is a Boxer mix.

Homer would like to have a home without children, or perhaps with older children.  He's a sweet boy who is good with bigger dogs, but does not enjoy cats.  Now neutered and fully vaccinated, Homer will flourish with obedience training which he looks forward to undergoing with his new family.

On August 27, 2018, Homer became an official member of a family in Greenhill Lake, NB, where he'll enjoy the life he was meant to live with his new feline friend and young toddler.  Congratulations, Homer!  Send photos!!

"Gallagher" is a shepherd mixed-breed dog who came to us on March 28, 2018 from the Woodstock area through the SPCA.  He was born about February 27, 2016.  Gallagher had a fever and neck pain - he could hardly lift his head.  He was not neutered.

Gallagher immediately underwent medical care at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic and was soon back on the road to recovery.  He stayed in a foster home where he got along very well with several cats and other dogs.  He's a real sweetheart who loves to enjoy lots of attention.  He already knows many basic commands and he just wants to please his family.  Thanks to his foster mom for taking such good care of him.

Gallagher was placed on medication which was gradually decreased as he became more healthy.  He has been neuterd and vaccinated and he'd like to have a home nearby where his family can return him for scheduled rechecks until we're absolutely certain he's 100% again, but he's well on his way!

Gallagher is a very sweet boy who loves everything and everyone and does his very best to please everyone he meets - two- or four-legged.  He is a great companion and the perfect house guest!

On August 21, 2018, Gallagher was adopted by a couple in Mactaquac where he'll have the life he's dreamed of.  He's a real sweetheart, and now he has a family to dote on.  Congratulations, Gallagher, to both you and your new family!  Send pictures!

"Charm" returned to DunRoamin' on July 23, 2018 as his family was in ill health and could no longer care for him.  He originally came to us on September 12, 2016 from Grand Falls where he had been picked up by the dog catcher as a stray in front of Giant Tiger.  His time was up and no one in the area would take him.  Since he was just a pup who was born about November 12, 2015, we couldn't let anything happen to him, so he became DunRoamin'. 

Charm was examined by his vet and found to be in good health.  He is now vaccinated and is ready for a home.  He was a little nervous at first, but who wouldn't be in their first day in a new environment?  Even with his nervousness, he was very friendly and trusting - he has obviously been well cared for. 

Charm, a Shepherd mixed-breed, seems to get along well with other dogs and he loves kids.  He seems well-named - he's certainly charmed all of us!

On July 30, 2018, Charm was adopted to Woodstock where he'll be well loved forever.  Be a good boy, Charm!  And send us lots of photos!  Congratulations to you and your family!

"Haines" came to us on July 5, 2018 from the Fredericton area.  An Akita born about January 1, 2011, he had lived most of his life on a rope with very little social interaction.  Despite this fact, he is an amazingly loving and affectionate boy.

Haines owes his new life to Paw & Order, where he was soon happily enjoying friends, love, soft furniture, training and air conditioning!  Haines is loving, affectionate and happy.  His rescuers tell us he loves to give wet, sloppy kisses and his tongue and tail go non-stop!  He weighs 84 pounds and has received his vaccines.  He will be neutered and receive follow-up care as necessary which will include a dental extraction, but he appears to be in good shape.  Haines was bathed and received a thorough brushing, both of which he enjoyed immensely - he loves attention!

Haines would prefer to have a home with someone who is familiar with Akitas and would do best only with older children.  He has learned many new things with his friends at Paw & Order, and as always, we're grateful for their support, assistance, compassion, skill, knowledge and care for our canine friends.  Thank you SO much for helping this boy - he's VERY appreciative, as are we!

On July 30, 2018, Haines was adopted by a lady from Fredericton.  Your new life begins today, Haines, and we're so happy for both you and your family.  Thanks again to Paw & Order for giving you this opportunity!

"Dino" came to us from Woodstock on July 16, 2018.  He was healthy, but was not wanted by his current owner and his life was not what it should be.  Just a puppy born about February 16, 2018, he is very loving, playful and affectionate.  He's learning new things and loves people.

On July 20, 2018, Dino was adopted by a lady from Perth-Andover where he'll now have the life he's supposed to live.  He deserves it!  Send us photos, Dino!!

"Lolli" came to DunRoamin' on June 26, 2018 from Hartland where she had had multiple of litters of puppies due to the fact that she had not been spayed.  Her current owners could not keep her.  She was skinny, but other wise healthy, although she had not been vaccinated or treated for parasites.  All these things were addressed.

Lolli was very timid and although she wanted to trust people, she was not able to do that easily.  She is not comfortable with men, for the most part.

On July 13, 2018, Lolli was adopted by a young lady from Riverbank where she's learning to trust people again.  She is very attached to her new mom and is doing well.  Congratulations, Lolli.  We wish you only the best, which is exactly what you'll get from this day on!

"Commander" came to us from the Perth-Andover area on June 6, 2018.  This handsome Doberman was born about June 6, 2011 and had been attacked by another dog which resulted in severe injury to his left front leg, requiring it to be amputated.  He also had cuts and bites on his head and neck which have been treated and have healed well.  Commander has been neutered, vaccinated and is ready to go to a new home.

Commander is a very nice boy who is good in the car and is house trained, although if he's left alone inside for a longer period of time he might not be able to wait. 

Commander is good with other dogs, indifferent to cats and great with kids, chickens and goats!  He's a sweet little boy who is grateful for the care he's been given and loves everyone he meets.  He hopes for a new home soon.

"Prince Harry" was returned to us on June 29, 2018 from Woodstock where his family was moving and could not take him with them.  He had originally come to us on August 23, 2016 from the Ashland area where he was unneutered, had moderate tartar and was not experiencing any social interaction.  He was born about August 23, 2014.  He had flea allergy dermatitis, needed a nail trim and will require a dental cleaning in the future.  He was bathed, his vaccines were brought up to date and he was ready to go!

On July 10, 2018, Prince Harry was adopted by a family from Perth-Andover.  Congratulations, Prince Harry.  Have a great life.  Send lots of photos!!

"Victor" came to us from the Millville area where his owners could no longer care for him.  He had several medical issues including obesity, dry eye, and chronically infected ears.  He was born about May 10, 2015. 

Victor is on a strict diet at this time (he was 59 lbs on arrival and has lost 5 lbs so far, but has several more pounds to go before he will be back to a healthy weight).  He needs to have eye medication applied twice every day to keep his eyes healthy and pain-free.  Due to the severity of his ear infections he will require regular eardrops in his right ear to keep him comfortable.  He is playful, loving and affectionate and he LOVES to have his belly rubbed - he'll flop on the floor in front of you begging for a scratch!!  The only thing he does not like is having his toe nails trimmed.  He is fine with cats, other dogs and kids.  He loves to be outdoors and to run and play - he's a very happy little Cocker Spaniel who knows such commands as "Sit," "Stay," "Down" and "Shake" very well.  One of his favourite pass times is playing fetch with his stuffed toys, and he LOVES his stuffed dinosaur!!!

Victor would like to have a home in the local area so his weight, heart and ears may be monitored. He looks forward to a loving family.

On July 10, 2018, Victor's dream came true when he was adopted by the nicest lady EVER!  He will now live with his new parents in Tracey Mills where he'll live the life of Riley.  Congratulations, Victor.  We couldn't be more happy for you!  Drop in often!!

"Odin" came to us from Woodstock on July 5, 2018.  He was born about December 22, 2017 and is a beautiful little boy.  Unfortunately, his family could not care for him and his options were very limited.

Odin was fostered by a very nice young lady and he got along famously with the many dogs in her home, having such a wonderful personality.  He is kind, happy, playful and loving - what more could you want in a puppy? He was then fostered by a lady in Greenfield who very quickly fell in love with him, so . . .

On July 5, 2018, Odin became the newest member of her family.  He now lives with his new human parents and his canine sisters with whom he'll have a blast playing!  Congratulations, Odin!  Don't forget to send us photos!

"Odie" came to us on June 15, 2018 from Grand Bay, NB when his friend Viper (see below) was returned to DunRoamin' due to the fact that his family was undergoing medical concerns and could not care for them.  Viper was born about June 15, 2013 and is a border collie mix who loves to play. 

On June 28, 2018, a lady travelled all the way from Prince Edward Island to meet Odie and his buddy Viper, and the rest is history!  We're so grateful that these two best friends got to stay together and that they will have such a great life.  Please stay in touch!

"Viper" came back to us on June 15, 2018 from Grand Bay where he had been adopted in 2017.  Unfortunately, his owners were not able to care for him due to medical considerations.  They were also not able to care for his friend, Odie (see above) and we didn't want to separate these two best friends, so Odie came with him.

Viper is a very nice boy who loves his friend Odie and they love to run and play together.

On June 29, 2018, Viper met a lady from Cornwall, PEI, who made the trip to meet him and Odie.  They now have a brand new family and live on The Island!  Congratulations, Viper and Odie.  Thanks to your new family for giving you such a great home together!

"Linda" came to us on May 23, 2018 from Oromocto.  She is a Shihtzu who was born about November 23, 2009.  She had moderate tartar on her teeth, was thin, diabetic and had cataracts on her eyes.  She may eventually benefit from surgery to remove the cataracts, but that's still a ways down the road.

Linda lived in a foster home where she enjoyed the company of several other dogs with whom she got along famously.  She is a very happy, playful little girl who was very attentive and loving to her human servant!  She likes cats, other dogs and kids and is a very sweet, bubbly, happy and attentive little girl!

Linda requires insulin twice daily and eats a diabetic diet.  She is skinny and needs to put on a little weight, but she'll do that, no problem!  Linda is hoping for a home where she can settle in and enjoy herself as much as she's sure her new family will enjoy her!  She particularly likes to sleep on the couch, but she doesn't take up much room! 

On June 18, 2018, Linda was adopted by a gentleman who will be her best new friend, and vice versa.  Congratulations, Linda!  Please stay in touch.  We'll miss you!

"Bitsy" came to DunRoamin' on May 18, 2018 from Woodstock where her family was no longer able to care for her due to medical issues.  Bitsy was born about July 4, 2004 and is a beautiful girl.  She likes the car, kids, cats and loves to be around people. 

Her medical assessment showed that she has medium tartar on her teeth, some back tenderness and mild cataracts.  She is very quiet, attentive and loving.  Bitsy would like to spend her time in a loving home where she can express her love of humans and all things related to the wonderful care she has received in her life so far.  She hopes for a quiet and loving home where she will be the perfect companion.  As a senior citizen of about 14 years, she can't wait to have her own home and family again. 

On May 23, 2018, Bitsy was transferred to the Oromocto SPCA where she soon received the best home ever!  She is a very lucky girl to have had the love of such a wonderful family for the past ten years.  She will miss them, but is looking forward to this new part of her life.  Congratulations, Bitsy.  You deserve the best again!

"Whittaker" came to us on April 3, 2018 from the Fredericton area where his owners realized he needed more medical help than they could provide.  Whittaker was born about January 3, 2018 and had a bladder infection and entropion - a condition in which the eyelids are turned inwards and can scratch his eyes every time he blinked.  His eyes had become infected as a result and he needed help.

Whittaker was fortunate enough to have the experience of his vet at FVC in his corner and he's doing very well.  He may eventually need another repair to one eyelid after he has grown a bit, but in the meantime he is pain- and infection-free!  He is a very happy little boy who loves people, other dogs, cats - just about everyone!  He was fortunate to be fostered by a tech who took excellent care of him while his eyes healed.  He, and we, are very grateful.

On May 12, 2018, Whittaker went to live in his new home in Maine where he'll have the family he's always dreamed of.  We're so very happy for you, Whittaker!  Please don't forget to send us photos of you with your new family as you grow!

"Zeus" came to us on April 13, 2018 from the Perth-Andover area where his family was no longer able to care for him.  He is a beautiful boy who was born about May 31, 2017.  He had an old fracture of the femur of his right hind leg which had been pinned and has healed very well.  Zeus was neutered, fully vaccinated and eager to go to a new home.

Zeus is a very nice boy.  He's very smart and willing to learn, so obedience classes are mandatory for this guy - he'll top the class!  He loves kids, cats, other dogs and is happy to sleep in his crate.  He is very energetic and loves to run and play outdoors.  When he's indoors, he happily follows his humans around and sleeps at their feet - he'll even sneak onto the couch for a cuddle if you'll let him!  He'll even lie in your lap!  He was adopted to a family on April 18, 2018, but was returned because they found his puppy energy to be too much for them.  He's a very playful and energetic boy.

On May 8, 2018, Zeus met a lady from Glassville where he now lives happily.  Congratulations, Zeus.  Please send us photos of you and your new family!

"Yoda" returned to DunRoamin' on April 21, 2018 from Mount Delight, NB.   Born on July 10, 2015 to June, a dog rescued from the Hartland area, he was adopted in August of 2015 but was returned to us as he was food aggressive (he is protective of his food while eating).  He had not done well with other dogs, but since being back with us he has done very well with his foster sibling dogs and with other dogs he has met.  He's been working hard on his food-aggressive behaviour and has learned well.  He does not enjoy being kenneled but would prefer to be with his humans.  On February 23, 2018, Yoda was adopted to Mount Delight but was returned because he missed having other dogs around.  Yoda was accepted by his former foster mother and he settled in quickly and perfectly in her home with several other cats and dogs.

Yoda is very loving and particularly enjoys snuggles and attention.  He would do best in a family without young children.  His mom was a terrier mix and his dad's breed is unknown.  He is a beautiful golden colour and is very handsome.  He'd love to have a loving home - and he loves to play with his ball in the snow!  He'll play for hours!!

On May 2, 2018, Yoda decided that he didn't want to live anywhere except with his foster mother.  He had spent much time there, loved all his canine and feline siblings and loved his humans.  He's not going anywhere!  Now named Coda (as his family already has a dog named Yoda), he is ecstatic.  Congratulations on finally coming home, Coda.

"Jarvis" came to us on April 20, 2018 from the Florenceville area.  He is a collie mix who was born about May 10, 2014.  Jarvis was not neutered or up to date on vaccinations, but is now.

Jarvis likes little kids, cats and little dogs.  He is a very nice boy who would like a home where he can run, play and be part of a loving family.

On May 1, 2018, Jarvis was blessed with the best family of which he could ever dream.  He now lives in Grand Manan with another ex-DunRoamin' dog named Shipley.  Congratulations, Jarvis!  Hi, Shipley!

"Acadia" is a Boston Terrier who came to us on March 31, 2018 from the Florenceville area where her new owner could not manage her health issues.  Acadia was examined by her new vet who found that she had moderate tartar on her teeth, a broken tooth which must be removed, a heart murmur and some enlargement of her heart appeared to be developing.  Acadia had some hearing impairment, cataracts in both eyes, her elbows were severely arthritic, she had arthritis in her spine and she had mildly low blood sugar.  Acadia is probably a teenager and she's been given medication (joint supplements, anti-inflammatory medication, pain medication, antibiotics, etc) to help with these afflictions.

Acadia requires eye drops twice times daily.  She is getting good nutrition and good medical care, and she's feeling so much better each day.  She may undergo dental surgery when strong enough and all her other needs have been addressed.  Her eyes must be monitored for pain in case her right one requires removal and we'll also keep tabs on her heart murmur, but right now she is doing just fine!  She is very attentive and does her best to please her humans.  She loves just being close to them.

Acadia does not appear to like other dogs - at least not small ones.  She is fully house trained and loves to go outdoors, although she's as anxious for warmer weather as much as the rest of us are!  She's just looking for a warm and loving home in which to live and a family to love her.  She is a very nice girl and certainly deserves that.   She'd love to have a foster home until she gets that permanent home she's wishing for.

On April 30, 2018, Acadia moved to Fredericton where she'll be cared for by some very nice people who have only the very best in mind for her.  We thank them for taking her in and giving her the love and life that she truly deserves and has waited so long to find.

On April 18, 2018, Zeus met a family who lived near Fredericton.  He is now the happy newest member!  His new best friend is a nine-year old boy who loves him already!  Congratulations, Zeus!  Congratulations to your new family, too!  Please send lots of photos of your and your new home and family!

"Moana" and her three siblings, Lilo, Stitch and Hani, came to us on March 23, 2018 as surrenders from the NB SPCA.  They were all extremely ill with parvovirus, a terrible disease which attacks the gastrointestinal tract and immune system causing severe vomiting and diarrhea.  Parvovirus is highly contagious and is spread through direct contact with infected dogs or infected feces and is easily carried on hands, food dishes, clothing, leashes, shoes, etc.  Left untreated, few dogs survive.  Sadly, her siblings Lilo, Stitch and Hani did not receive help in time and Moana was the only survivor.  She was born about December 17, 2017.

Moana, a husky mix, was cold, had severe diarrhea and was vomiting terribly.  As part of her care, she received IV fluids to rehydrate her and was given tiny spoonfuls of food at a time to ensure she did not continually vomit it back up.  As she got better day by day, she began to eat ravenously.

Parvovirus requires extensive supportive care and Moana was fortunate to have been brought to the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic where the entire staff immediately began their detailed protocol to contain the virus and provide supportive care.  This included isolation to ensure the virus could not spread and medical care to ensure that she was able to get the fluids and other necessities to help her survive.  Without the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic's assistance, she would, without a doubt, have met the same fate as her three siblings very quickly.  We thank Dr Monteith and her staff for the countless hours of intensive medical support this little girl received.  She is grateful as well.  Moana would like to remind everyone to please vaccinate your dogs - it would have saved her and her siblings much suffering.

On April 6, 2018, Moana was retested for parvovirus at which time she was deemed completely healthy and will now be fully vaccinated to ensure she remains healthy.  She is well on her way to being a typical, happy puppy.  She is becoming boisterous, playful and is definitely affectionate.  She's feeling better so is starting to play more and she loves to carry her leash and pounce on snow, leaves, feet - anything that might be moving!  She'd like to go to obedience classes with her new owner, because she's very smart and will learn much very quickly!

On April 14, 2018, Moana met some very nice people from Fredericton and they all fell in love.  Moana, renamed Heidi, will live happily ever after with her new human family and her canine brother who can't wait to run and play with her.  Congratulations!!

"Rudy" is a Lab-mix puppy who came to us on March 20, 2018 from the Waterville area.  Examination by her new vet revealed that she was thin, depressed, very nauseous, dehydrated and saturated with diarrhea.  She was diagnosed with parvovirus, a terrible and deadly disease which easily afflicts unvaccinated dogs should they come in contact with it.  Rudy was born about September 20, 2017, so is just a puppy.

Rudy was placed on fluids, antibiotics and nausea medication and was hand-fed daily to ensure she kept up her strength.  She soon began to re-develope her appetite!  She is a beautiful little girl who is starting to show her wonderful, active personality, and she LOVES people!

Rudy has been retested and proclaimed perfectly free of parvovirus.  She will be fully vaccinated, spayed, etc, as are all DunRoamin' dogs and is eager to go to her new home.  She can't wait!  Rudy would like to thank the vet techs who have been caring for her daily - it's made all the difference in the world to her!

On April 6, 2018, Rudy was adopted to a home in Fredericton where she will be well cared for and have the life she deserves.  Thanks to her new family.  Please send lots of photos as she grows!  Congratulations, Rudy!!

"Stallone" came to DunRoamin' on January 24, 2018 from the Grand Falls area where he had been struck by a vehicle several days previously and his family was not able to care for him.  His pelvis was broken and he had a tail injury, as well as needing a dental cleaning.

Stallone's new vet was quick to devise a treatment plan and he's doing well.  His tail was slow to regain function and it was a concern that he might have to have it amputated, but he soon made sure everyone saw it wagging once he felt better!  He was soon recovering very well, thanks to the love and care he's been receiving from his foster family since February 24.  We are grateful for your love and care of this little boy - he's very special.

On March 30, 2018, two ladies travelled all the way from Fredericton to meet Stallone.  They had recently lost their beloved DunRoamin' dog, Flora, whom they had adopted in November 2006.  She had also come to us after having sustained injuries from being struck by a vehicle and they wished to honour her by helping another injured stray.  Thank you so much!  We are grateful to know that this little boy, now named Simon, will have such a caring family and that the rest of his life will be filled with love and kindness.  Congratulations, Simon.  You're all good from here!!  Please stay in touch!

"Arnie" was accepted by DunRoamin' on March 28, 2018 from Neburg, NB, where his only option appeared to be euthanization.  He is a Lab mixed-breed who was born about February 15, 2014.  He loves cars, cats, other dogs, going in the car - he's a very nice boy!  At 75 pounds in weight, he's all muscle and goodness! Arnie loves to go for walks, comes on command and is a very attentive and affectionate boy.

On March 29, 2018, he met a lady from the Perth-Andover area who thinks he is the nicest boy she's ever met!  He now lives with her and will have the best life ever.  Congratulations, Arnie.  We're very happy for you!  Thanks to all who made this possible.  Good job!

"Gander" originally came to us from Woodstock on February 4, 2018.  He had fleas, a distended abdomen, was underweight and had a very bad case of roundworms.  He required medical care, which he immediately received.

Gander is a very sweet little boy.  He was fostered by two caring individuals who ensured he had everything he needed!

On March 4, 2018, Gander was adopted by a couple that lives in a small town in Maine where he'll be the newest member of the family.  He is very happy to be welcomed into this family and is looking forward to his wonderful new life.  Congratulations, Gander!

"Mickey" came to DunRoamin' on December 22, 2017 from the NB SPCA.  She had been found wandering on the road between Hartland and Florenceville, but no family could be located. She was accepted by DunRoamin' due to the fact that she was on her own, she was older (born about December 22, 2008), very skinny and she had two masses on her body which most likely would require removal.

Mickey is a very sweet Shepherd mixed breed.  She loves cats, cars, kids and is happy to do whatever is asked of her.  She was fostered by a caring young lady who reported that Mickey got along exceptionally well with her canine foster brother and fit perfectly into the family.  She is quiet, loving and affectionate - she's so grateful to be warm, safe, fed, loved - all the basics, but in MEGA doses!!

On January 18, 2018, we learned that Mickey had earned herself a membership in a very loving family in Lincoln, NB, where she'll be spoiled and cared for just as she deserves for the rest of her life.  We're very grateful.  Have a wonderful life, Mickey.  Please send lots of photos and updates about your new life - your foster mom loves and misses you terribly!!
